Recovering Images from Text Messages on Android

Have you found yourself needing to locate a specific image received via text message, but can't recall the sender? Rather than manually reviewing conversations with numerous contacts, a more efficient solution exists: extracting all images directly from your text messages.

The Save MMS application, available for free, provides this functionality. Begin by accessing the Play Store and searching for “save mms”. Install the application, then launch it from your App Drawer.

This app is designed to retrieve all attachments – including pictures, audio recordings, and videos – from your MMS messages. Browse the displayed list of images until you identify the desired picture, then simply tap on it.

A dialog box will appear, prompting you to choose a filename. A default name will already be assigned. To customize the filename, input your preferred name into the provided field and then select “Save”.

The image file will then be stored within the “SavedMMS” folder on your device’s internal storage. The image can be viewed by tapping its filename within your file manager application, such as the default “My Files” app.

Select your preferred image viewer to open and view the saved image.

Following this, transferring the image files to your computer is straightforward. You can utilize a cloud-based service, a USB cable connection, or a remote device management tool like AirDroid for this purpose. Alternatively, simply add the image to your phone’s existing photos collection.
