Automating Forest Installation with Answer Files

Time constraints often prevent administrators from manually progressing through installation wizards. Utilizing an answer file streamlines the process of deploying new installations, offering significant time savings. An answer file is fundamentally a plain text file, easily created or modified from existing configurations.

If you are establishing a new Forest at the Server 2008 Functional Level, the configurations detailed below will be appropriate. Adjustments to specific entries within the file are necessary if different settings are required.

To begin, launch the Command Prompt with administrative privileges by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator."
