Combine Images to PDF on Android - Easy Guide

Converting Images to PDF on Android
If you've captured images of a document with your Android phone and need to share them, converting these images into a PDF file simplifies the process. This allows for easier distribution of the document.
While dedicated document scanner apps automatically create PDFs, this method is effective even if you didn’t initially use one. Creating a PDF from images is also achievable on Windows and macOS, though generally more straightforward on Android.
Using Image to PDF Converter
We will utilize a complimentary application called Image to PDF Converter. Begin by installing the app from the Google Play Store. Following installation, launch the app either directly from the Play Store page or by tapping the newly added icon on your Home screen.
The app opens to a blank screen featuring a toolbar at the top. To incorporate images for conversion, select the plus sign icon located on the toolbar.
A display of folders on your device containing images will appear. Tap the folder that houses the images you intend to include in your PDF.
To initiate image selection, tap the selection button positioned at the screen's top.
All images within the folder are now selected. To deselect specific images, simply tap on them individually. Once your desired images are chosen, confirm your selection by tapping the check mark icon in the upper-right corner.
The selected files are arranged based on their filenames. To alter this order, tap the sort icon on the toolbar.
Within the Sort dialog box, you can choose different sorting methods. For instance, selecting “File Name (Z to A)” will reverse the order of the images. Alternatively, “File Name (A to Z)” restores the original order. Sorting by “File Time” is also available, allowing you to arrange files from oldest to newest (down arrow) or newest to oldest (up arrow).
Manual reordering is also possible. Tap and hold the three-bar icon with the up and down arrows next to an image file, then drag it to its desired position within the list.
After establishing the desired image order, tap the “PDF” button on the toolbar.
You’ll be presented with options regarding image resizing. You can choose to maintain the original image sizes or specify maximum width and height dimensions. We recommend leaving the images unresized. Tap “Save PDF” to generate the PDF file.
The “Done” screen indicates the number of pages in the created PDF and its saved location on your device. You can choose to “Send to” share the PDF file through various methods, or “Open PDF” to view it using a compatible application.
Opening and Sharing the PDF
Selecting “Open PDF” will display a popup menu listing available PDF viewers on your device. The most recently used app will be listed at the top. Tap “Just Once” to open the PDF with that app for this instance, or “Always” to set it as the default PDF viewer.
In our example, we opened the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat.
Once you’ve verified the PDF’s appearance, return to Image to PDF Converter using your device’s back button. From the “Done” screen, you can now share the PDF file. However, the automatically assigned filename may be generic. Renaming the file with a descriptive title is recommended.
Renaming the PDF File
To rename the PDF, tap the “PDF files” icon on the toolbar.
A list of all PDFs generated within the app will be displayed. Select the recently created PDF by tapping the selection bubble to its right.
Then, tap the rename icon located on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
In the “Rename File” dialog box, enter the new filename in the designated edit box and tap “OK”.
The updated filename will appear in the list. To share the PDF, ensure the desired file is selected (indicated by a blue selection bubble) and tap the share icon on the toolbar.
The “Share with” popup menu will appear. Expand the menu by swiping upwards and select the application you wish to use for sharing. For example, choose your email app to send the file via email, or upload it to a cloud storage service like Dropbox.
This process ensures your document is shared as a cohesive PDF, eliminating the need for recipients to navigate through multiple image files.
