Change Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) - Verizon FIOS Router

Customizing Your Verizon FIOS Wi-Fi Network Name
Many Verizon FIOS subscribers encounter a common issue: the default Wi-Fi network name is often unremarkable and easily forgotten. Fortunately, personalizing this name is a straightforward process.
Accessing your Wi-Fi router's settings requires a web browser. Navigate to 192.168.1.1 in your browser's address bar to begin the login procedure. You will need the password, which can be found on a sticker affixed to the router itself. The standard username is always 'admin'.
Accessing Wireless Settings
Upon successful login, locate and select the 'Wireless Settings' option within the main menu. This section controls the configuration of your wireless network.
Within the Wireless Settings, click on 'Basic Security Settings' located on the left-hand side of the screen. A confirmation message may appear; acknowledge and proceed through it.
Changing the SSID
You will now be presented with the settings screen where you can modify the SSID (Service Set Identifier), which is the name of your Wi-Fi network.
Enter your desired network name in the designated field. Remember to click the 'save' button at the bottom of the screen to apply your changes.
The name you choose is entirely up to you, but selecting something uncomplicated and easy to recall is generally recommended. Keep in mind that nearby neighbors will be able to view your network name.
