The SkyBell HD initially displays a green LED, a color chosen for its intuitive association with accessibility (green often signifies 'go'). However, users can modify this to virtually any desired hue or shade.
Accessing the LED Settings
Begin by launching the SkyBell application on your smartphone.
From the main interface, locate and tap the settings gear icon situated in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Within the settings menu, select "LED" which is found directly under the "SkyBell Configuration" section.
Adjusting Color and Brightness
This section allows you to not only change the color but also to disable the LED entirely. Furthermore, you can adjust the brightness to Low, Medium, or High. A "Low" setting often provides sufficient illumination, particularly during nighttime hours.
To select a new color, tap on the "Color" option.
A color palette will appear, enabling you to choose almost any color by positioning the circular selector. Note that the SkyBell does not display a live preview of the color change within the app.
To apply your selection, tap the "Save" button located in the top-right corner of the screen. This will then update the LED color on your SkyBell unit.
Upon saving, the button and the light bar on the top of the SkyBell will illuminate with your newly chosen custom color when the device is in an idle state – meaning no one is currently at the door.
This customization allows for a more personalized and visually appealing experience with your SkyBell HD video doorbell.
