Change Amazon Echo Alarm Sound - A Simple Guide

Customizing Your Amazon Echo Alarm Sound
When an alarm or timer is activated on your Amazon Echo device, a standard alert tone is emitted. While this default sound isn't necessarily unpleasant, users have the ability to personalize it. This allows for selection of a more suitable sound based on individual preferences.
Accessing Alarm Settings via the Alexa App
Begin by launching the Alexa application on your smartphone. Locate and tap the menu icon, typically found in the upper-left corner of the screen.
From the menu, select "Settings" to proceed.
Device Selection and Sound Configuration
Within the Settings menu, choose your specific Amazon Echo device from the list displayed under the "Alexa Devices" section. If multiple Echo devices are in use, this process must be repeated for each one.
Next, tap on the "Sounds & Notifications" option.
Here, you can independently adjust the volume levels for alarms and timers. This control is separate from the general audio volume settings of your Echo.
Choosing a New Alarm Tone
To modify the alarm and timer sound, tap on "Alarm" located within the "Notification Sounds" section.
A selection of available sounds will then be presented. The "Celebrity" category offers a unique option, featuring alarm tones voiced by various well-known personalities.
Alternatively, browse the sounds listed under "Custom". Tapping on any sound will allow you to preview it directly on your smartphone.
Finalizing Your Selection
Once you have identified a sound you like, simply tap the back arrow in the top-left corner of the screen. This will return you to the main screen of the Alexa app, with your new alarm sound now active.
Here's a quick summary of the steps:
- Open the Alexa app.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select your Echo device.
- Choose "Sounds & Notifications".
- Tap "Alarm" under "Notification Sounds".
- Preview and select your desired sound.
- Confirm your choice by tapping the back arrow.
Important Note: The volume of the alarm can be adjusted independently of other audio settings on your Echo device, ensuring optimal audibility.
