Considering this, a dedicated summer edition of Extra Crunch Live is being introduced, focusing exclusively on pitch-offs.

Startups from TechCrunch Disrupt 2021

On August 4th, Extra Crunch Live will showcase startups selected from those exhibiting in the Startup Alley at TechCrunch Disrupt 2021, scheduled for September. These companies will present their products and business models to a panel of experienced VC judges, receiving immediate and constructive criticism.

Typically, Extra Crunch Live combines a founder/investor interview with an audience pitch-off. However, with the proximity of Disrupt, the format is being adjusted to deliver a greater volume of pitches and feedback.

Expert Judges

The expert VC judges for this event will be Edith Yeung of Race Capital and Laela Sturdy from CapitalG. Registration is free and can be completed here!

Edith Yeung’s background includes investment roles at 500 Startups, and she currently serves as a general partner at Race Capital. Her expertise spans both the Chinese and Silicon Valley investment ecosystems, with over 50 investments in companies like Lightyear/Stellar, Silk Labs, and Human.

Laela Sturdy brings a wealth of experience as a former operator and now an investor, with a portfolio valued at approximately $200 billion. She joined CapitalG, Alphabet’s investment division, in 2013 and has invested in companies such as Stripe, UiPath, and Duolingo.
