Reliable resources detailing the positioning of these cables are scarce. Fortunately, a valuable tool exists for those interested in exploring the pathways of these undersea networks.

Introducing Greg's Cable Map

“Greg's Cable Map” is an accessible, free-to-use website dedicated to illustrating the location of undersea data cables worldwide.

Interactive features allow users to hover over individual cables on the map. This action reveals a white box at the bottom of the screen, displaying key details such as the cable's name, its total length, and its data rate.

Clicking on a specific cable will highlight it on the map. Further information and relevant links concerning that particular cable are then displayed in a white box on the right side of the interface.

Map Viewing Options

The map’s display can be toggled between Aerial and Road views. Selecting Road view assists in identifying terrestrial roadways depicted on the map.

A 3D viewing option is also available, though it requires a preliminary file download from the website. To activate the 3D view, simply select the “3D” option located in the top-left corner of the screen.
