Grammarly Rebrands as 'Superhuman' & Launches New AI Assistant

Grammarly Rebrands as Superhuman, Introduces New AI Assistant

In a departure from typical acquisition practices, Grammarly is adopting the branding of Superhuman, the email client it acquired in July. The parent company will now operate under the name “Superhuman.”

Despite this significant change, the Grammarly product itself will retain its existing name and identity. However, the company is considering future rebranding efforts for other acquired platforms, such as Coda, its productivity platform.

Introducing Superhuman Go: An AI-Powered Assistant

A new AI assistant, Superhuman Go, is being launched as an integrated feature within the current Grammarly extension. This assistant is designed to enhance writing quality and provide insightful feedback.

Superhuman Go can offer writing suggestions and analyze emails. Furthermore, it can be connected to various applications, including Jira, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar, to gain contextual awareness.

These connections allow the assistant to perform tasks like automatically logging support tickets or retrieving your schedule information when arranging meetings.

Future development plans include enabling the assistant to access data from CRMs and internal systems. This will allow it to suggest more relevant and informed changes to your email communications.

Users can activate Superhuman Go via a toggle within the Grammarly extension, establishing connections to their preferred applications.

The company’s agent store, launched in August, also offers additional agents for users to explore, including tools for plagiarism detection and proofreading.

Subscription Plans and Access

Superhuman Go is currently available for all Grammarly users to test. The company is also offering bundled subscription options.

The Pro plan, priced at $12 per month (billed annually), will provide grammar and tone support across multiple languages. The Business plan, costing $33 per month (billed annually), will include access to Superhuman Mail.

Superhuman intends to integrate more AI capabilities into both the Coda document suite and the Superhuman email client.

This includes automatically enriching documents and email drafts with details sourced from both external and internal resources.

Positioning for Competition

Over recent years, Grammarly has actively worked to expand its role as a comprehensive productivity suite, demonstrated by its acquisitions of Coda and Superhuman.

With the introduction of this AI assistant, the company aims to strengthen its competitive position against platforms like Notion, ClickUp, and Google Workspace. These competitors have also been actively integrating AI-powered features into their offerings.
