Google has officially announced the dates for its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2025. The event is scheduled to take place on May 20th and 21st, 2025.

The conference will once again be hosted at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. This location is conveniently situated near Google’s headquarters.

Event Format and Keynote

Google I/O is designed to cater to both the general public and the developer community. The event features a blend of announcements and technical sessions.

Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, will deliver the opening keynote address on the morning of May 20th. Following the keynote, a series of more focused breakout sessions will be held for developers.

Focus on Generative AI

The previous year’s conference heavily emphasized Gemini, Google’s generative AI platform. It is anticipated that artificial intelligence will remain a central theme in 2025.

Following Google I/O, Apple’s WWDC will take place in June. Microsoft Build, scheduled for May 19th-22nd in Seattle, presents direct competition to Google’s event.
