Google Find My Device Renamed to Find Hub - What's New?

Find Hub: Google's Expanded Device Tracking Network
Google announced enhancements to its device-finding capabilities for Android users on Tuesday, during the Android Show, preceding Google I/O 2025. The company is rebranding its Find My Device feature as “Find Hub” to reflect its broadened scope.
Evolution of Device Location Services
Originally launched in 2013 as a native Android alternative to Apple’s Find My service, Find My Device underwent a significant expansion just over a year ago. This update introduced a crowdsourced network for locating items through Bluetooth trackers and tags.
Expanding Partner Ecosystem
Google is now introducing additional partners that will integrate with the service, leveraging their own built-in location tracking technologies. This expansion aims to provide users with more comprehensive tracking options.
New Tracking Capabilities
The Find Hub will feature integrated luggage tracking from brands such as July and Mokobara. Users will also be able to locate skis equipped with Peak’s built-in tracking technology.
Furthermore, new Bluetooth tags specifically designed for families are being introduced by Pixbee. Support for ultra-wideband (UWB) technology will be added later this month, enabling location tracking of Motorola’s moto tags.
Satellite and Airline Integration
Google has confirmed that support for satellite-based finding will become available later in 2025. This will allow device location even in areas without cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity.
In addition to satellite support, Google is establishing partnerships with airlines to assist travelers in monitoring their baggage. These new airline partners include Aer Lingus, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, and Singapore Airlines, mirroring similar functionality recently added to Apple’s Find My network.
Following last year’s announcement regarding Apple’s collaboration with over a dozen airlines, Android users will now benefit from similar luggage tracking capabilities through Find Hub.
