Google AI Gets Agentic: Book Tickets & Appointments

Google Enhances AI Mode with New Agentic Features
Google revealed on Tuesday the rollout of enhanced agentic capabilities within AI Mode, its innovative feature designed to facilitate complex queries and in-depth exploration of topics directly within the Google Search interface.
Expanded Functionality: Event Tickets and Appointments
Users are now able to leverage AI Mode for assistance with securing event tickets and scheduling beauty and wellness appointments.
For instance, a user might request, “Locate two affordable tickets for the upcoming Shaboozey concert, with a preference for standing floor access.”
AI Mode will then conduct a search across numerous websites to identify real-time ticket options aligning with the specified criteria.
The system will subsequently present a carefully selected compilation of ticket prices for the user’s consideration, linking directly to the booking page for final purchase completion.
Availability and Access
These new agentic capabilities are currently available to all users who have opted into Google’s Search Labs, its experimental program, within the United States.
Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers benefit from elevated usage limits.
Google initially introduced agentic capabilities to AI Mode in August, beginning with the ability to find restaurant reservations.
Restaurant Reservations: A Previous Implementation
This functionality allows users to request dinner reservations based on a variety of preferences, including party size, date, time, location, and desired cuisine.
As an example, a user could pose the question, “Find a dinner reservation for a party of three this Friday after 6 p.m. in the vicinity of Logan Square, with a preference for ramen or bibimbap.”
AI Mode will then search across various reservation platforms to determine real-time availability at restaurants that match the provided inquiry.
A curated list of suitable options will then be displayed.
Google’s Commitment to Quality and Safety
“Our primary focus within Google Search remains connecting users with trustworthy, high-quality information,” Google stated on its Search Labs page.
“While this new mode is built upon our established quality and safety systems, it is still an early-stage experiment and may occasionally produce inaccuracies.”
AI Mode’s Evolution and Expansion
AI Mode was initially launched in March as a response to emerging services like Perplexity AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search.
Since its inception, the technology company has expanded AI Mode to over 180 countries and has continually added new features.
Recent additions include a Canvas feature, designed to aid in the creation of study plans and the organization of information across multiple sessions within a side panel.
Furthermore, AI Mode now supports the use of Google Lens to facilitate inquiries about objects visible on a user’s desktop screen.
