Google AI Mode Now Available in Spanish Globally

Google Extends AI-Powered Search to Spanish Speakers
Google Search is now offering its AI Mode feature – an AI-driven search experience – to users who communicate in Spanish, as revealed by the company on Tuesday.
This development broadens the accessibility of Google’s conversational search interface, enabling users to formulate inquiries using natural language, participate in interactive dialogues, and utilize image uploads.
Expanding Global Reach of AI Search
The introduction of Spanish-language support follows Google’s significant AI Mode expansion in August.
During that August release, the feature became available in 180 additional countries globally.
Previously, access was limited to users in the U.S., U.K., and India.
Furthermore, Google introduced enhanced AI functionalities for Google AI Ultra subscribers, including the ability to make restaurant reservations directly within AI Mode.
Future plans involve incorporating support for various other appointment types and event ticket acquisitions.
A Wave of AI Integrations
Google is actively integrating AI across its diverse product portfolio, frequently announcing multiple updates concurrently.
Alongside the Spanish-language AI Mode launch, the company announced the availability of conversational photo editing for all Android users in the U.S.
Additionally, the more accessible Google AI Plus subscription plan, initially launched in Indonesia, is now being rolled out to 40 more countries.
Competition with OpenAI’s ChatGPT
This expansion mirrors OpenAI’s recent introduction of its ChatGPT’s Go plan.
The ChatGPT Go plan debuted in India in August and became available in Indonesia on Tuesday.
It serves as a mid-range subscription option, positioned between OpenAI’s complimentary version and the premium $20 monthly ChatGPT Plus plan.
Go plan subscribers benefit from ten times greater usage limits for submitting prompts, generating images, and uploading files.
OpenAI states that this plan also enhances ChatGPT’s ability to retain context from prior conversations, leading to more tailored responses over time.
Multilingual AI Support
Earlier this month, Google announced that AI Mode now includes support for Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Distinguishing AI Mode from AI Overviews
Given the proliferation of AI-powered features, users may find it challenging to differentiate between offerings like Google’s AI Mode and AI Overviews.
AI Mode provides a distinct, immersive, and conversational environment where users directly interact with the Gemini AI model.
In contrast, AI Overviews deliver a concise, AI-generated summary of information related to a search query, displayed at the top of Google’s search results page.
