Delete Personal Info from Google Search - New Tools

Google Enhances Personal Information Removal Tool
On Wednesday, Google announced an update to its “Results about you” tool, designed to streamline the process of protecting and removing personal information from its Search results.
The company states that improvements have been made to the initial sign-up procedure and the method for submitting removal requests directly through Google Search.
Proactive Monitoring and Removal
This tool empowers users to actively monitor and request the deletion of sensitive data, such as their phone number, email address, or physical address, from appearing in Search results.
The latest enhancements allow users to access an updated menu by clicking the three dots adjacent to each Google Search result, facilitating quicker removal submissions.
Requesting Information Refreshes
Furthermore, the three-dot menu now provides the option to request a refresh of existing information.
Should content about an individual be removed from a website, but the Search results haven’t been updated accordingly, a refresh request can be submitted.
This prompts Google’s systems to “recrawl” the page, ensuring the most current information is reflected.
Utilizing the Feature
To utilize this functionality, users are required to complete a form, providing their contact details for verification against the information displayed in the Search results.
Users also have the option to opt-in to receive notifications whenever Google identifies Search results containing their personal information.
Google assures users that this information is not shared or utilized for personalization purposes across its various products.
Geographic Availability
Currently, the feature is accessible to users located in the following countries:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Ireland
- Australia
- Canada
- South Africa
- Brazil
- Mexico
- Spain
- France
- Sweden
- Thailand
- India
- Indonesia
