NotebookLM Apps Launched by Google for Android & iOS

NotebookLM Now Available on Mobile
Google officially launched the NotebookLM applications for both Android and iOS platforms on Monday. This release occurred just prior to the commencement of Google I/O 2025 and followed the company’s previously stated rollout timeline.
Initially introduced in 2023, the AI-powered note-taking and research tool was previously limited to desktop access. Google has now extended the service’s availability to users on mobile devices.
Enhancing Information Comprehension
NotebookLM is engineered to facilitate a deeper understanding of intricate information. It achieves this through functionalities such as intelligent summarization and the capacity to pose queries regarding documents and various other materials.
The application provides access to Audio Overviews, which are AI-generated podcasts created by NotebookLM based on the source materials supplied by the user. These overviews support background playback and offer offline functionality.
Key Features and Functionality
Users are now able to create new notebooks directly within the app, as well as access and review existing ones. Furthermore, a streamlined process allows for the addition of content from websites, PDFs, or YouTube videos via the share icon and NotebookLM selection.
Existing uploaded sources can also be readily viewed within each individual notebook. This ensures easy access to all collected information.
Customization and Future Updates
The Android and iOS versions of NotebookLM incorporate both a light and dark mode. The app automatically adapts to the user’s device’s system-wide settings for visual preference.
Considering the timing of this launch, further details and potential enhancements to the application may be unveiled during Google’s I/O keynote address on Tuesday.
NotebookLM aims to be a versatile tool for research and note-taking, now accessible wherever you are.
