Track Package Deliveries with Gmail - Convenient Updates

Gmail Introduces Dedicated “Purchases” Tab for Streamlined Delivery Tracking
Gmail is currently deploying a new “Purchases” tab designed to provide users with a consolidated view of their anticipated package deliveries, as Google revealed on Thursday.
This functionality will enable users to access all emails pertaining to their purchases in a single location, encompassing both recent and past orders and shipments.
Key Features and Functionality
Google clarifies that packages scheduled for arrival within a 24-hour timeframe will continue to appear directly in users’ primary inboxes.
The new tab serves to centralize all purchase-related information, offering a unified overview.
This update expands upon Gmail’s existing package-tracking capability, initially launched in 2022.
This feature allows users to monitor their upcoming deliveries directly within their inbox, eliminating the need to visit individual carrier websites.
Holiday Season Focus & Promotion Updates
Google emphasizes the particular utility of this feature during peak shopping periods, such as the holidays.
According to PwC’s 2025 holiday forecast, 39% of all projected holiday gift expenditure is expected to occur within the five days spanning Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.
The new tab aims to facilitate more efficient tracking of the increased volume of shipments during this time.
The rollout of this feature is commencing today for users with personal Google accounts on both mobile and web platforms, globally.
Enhanced Promotion Category
Furthermore, Google announced an update to the Gmail Promotion category.
Users will now be able to sort promotional emails by “most relevant,” prioritizing updates from preferred brands.
Gmail will also proactively notify users about upcoming deals and time-sensitive offers.
This update is scheduled to begin rolling out in the coming weeks to mobile users with personal Google accounts.
Subscription Management Improvements
These announcements follow Gmail’s recent introduction of a feature designed to simplify subscription management.
Users can now view all subscription emails in a dedicated space and easily unsubscribe from unwanted lists, contributing to a cleaner inbox.
