Enquire AI Launches with $5.5M Funding - Formerly Globalwonks

Enquire AI Launches with $5.5 Million in Series A Funding
GlobalWonks has rebranded as Enquire AI following a successful $5.5 million Series A funding round, announced on Tuesday.
Leveraging AI for Global Expertise
The Washington, D.C.-based company utilizes artificial intelligence to connect businesses with global subject-matter experts, drawing from both internal and external sources, in real time.
Funding Details
Uzabase spearheaded the oversubscribed funding round, with participation from Teneo Ventures, Blu Ventures, and a collective of angel investors.
This latest investment brings the company’s total funding to $9 million.
Company Origins
Enquire, initially founded as GlobalWonks in 2018 by Bilal Baloch, Cenk Sidar, and Fatih Orhan, was born from the recognition that valuable expertise often remains untapped within organizations.
Addressing Information Access Challenges
“Gaining insight into the regulatory landscape of Kenya or public health conditions in Indonesia requires knowing where to find reliable information,” explained COO Bilal Baloch to TechCrunch.
“Traditional methods often involve costly firms relying on experts lacking on-the-ground experience or providing outdated data.”
Network Pulse Technology
Enquire’s Network Pulse technology addresses this by connecting users with a network of experts through a question-and-answer platform.
Users submit questions and receive concise answers in real time from over 40,000 experts, categorized by their areas of expertise.
Benefits for Experts and Users
This system allows experts to monetize their knowledge efficiently, requiring only minutes to respond to queries, creating an additional income stream.
Those seeking information can also schedule more detailed consultations with experts for in-depth analysis.
The “Enquire” Rebrand
The transition to the name “Enquire” reflects the company’s expansion beyond its initial focus on “wonks” and into broader capabilities.
These include API integrations with other SaaS platforms, enabling employees to readily access the knowledge and insights of their colleagues, according to Baloch.
Market Opportunity
The company estimates the expert network market at $1 billion and believes its new capabilities position it to enter the market research sector, projected to reach $73 billion in value by 2020.
Competition in this space is increasing, as evidenced by NewtonX’s recent $32 million raise for its data and research tool and Wonder’s expansion of its research team.
Future Plans
The Series A funding will be used to diversify Enquire’s knowledge technology offerings, expand its team, enhance marketing efforts, and establish new API partnerships.
Current Traction
Enquire currently serves 50 companies globally, with a total of 300 clients.
Over the past year, the company has experienced a 300% increase in revenue and a 207% growth in its expert network.
Investor Perspective
“They are fundamentally changing how expertise is shared and accessed through technology, and we are pleased to support a company that prioritizes the interests of all stakeholders,” stated Yusuke Umeda, co-founder of Uzabase.
“This investment underscores the significant value of research, resources, and data application in informed decision-making.”
