A list based on overall popularity would predominantly feature common queries like “weather forecasts.” Instead, the report focuses on searches that experienced a substantial increase in traffic during 2025 compared to the previous year, 2024.
Top Overall Trending Search
The most trending search globally in 2025 was identified as “Gemini,” Google’s advanced AI chatbot. Following closely were searches related to “India vs England” and “Charlie Kirk.”
Trending News Topics
When examining news-related searches, “Charlie Kirk” emerged as the most prominent trending topic. Specifically, the query “Charlie Kirk assassination” garnered significant attention. “Iran” and “US Government Shutdown” followed as the second and third most trending news queries, respectively.
Food and Recipes
In the realm of culinary interests, “hot honey,” a sweet and spicy condiment, claimed the top spot for trending recipes. “Marry Me Chicken” and “chimichurri” completed the top three most searched food items.
Entertainment: Movies and Actors
The film “Anora” led the way as the most trending movie search. “Superman” and the “Minecraft Movie” secured the second and third positions.
