Future Family Secures $9 Million to Expand Fertility Treatment Access

Future Family, a company previously covered in our reporting, is dedicated to increasing the accessibility of fertility treatments. They achieve this by negotiating favorable rates with fertility clinics, eliminating unexpected costs for patients.

Furthermore, they transform significant upfront expenses into manageable monthly payments and provide each user with a dedicated Fertility Coach to guide them throughout their journey.

Funding Announcement and Expansion

The company announced this morning that it has successfully raised $9 million in a new funding round. This capital will be used to broaden the network of clinics with which Future Family collaborates.

This investment is framed as an extension of their prior Series A funding of $10 million, secured in 2018, and is being referred to as a “Series A-1” round.

The Inspiration Behind Future Family

As previously detailed, Future Family’s origins stem from the personal experiences of founder Claire Tomkins:

Claire Tomkins shared that, similar to many businesses, 2020 presented unprecedented challenges. Initially, the emergence of COVID-19 led to the temporary closure of numerous fertility clinics.

Even after clinics reopened, uncertainty surrounding the pandemic’s trajectory caused many prospective patients to postpone their treatments.

“The past year was undoubtedly difficult,” she stated, “however, we are now positioned for positive growth.”

Looking Ahead: Increased Demand and Network Growth

Claire reports that 2021 is demonstrating a significant shift. “Individuals who previously delayed treatment are now actively pursuing their family-building goals,” she explained.

“Those who postponed for 12 months or longer are now seeking care, resulting in a substantial increase in activity.” The company anticipates achieving “record levels of activity” in the latter half of 2021, based on current data.

To accommodate this surge in demand, Future Family is actively onboarding additional fertility clinics to its network. This includes CCRM, a prominent fertility group with locations in major metropolitan areas such as Minneapolis, Houston, Denver, and San Francisco.
