Breega Raises $130 Million: French VC Firm Expands Funding

Breega Closes Third Investment Fund with $130 Million

Paris-based venture capital firm, Breega, has announced the successful completion of its third fundraise. A total of $130 million (€110 million) was secured in this latest closing.

Fund Details and History

Officially named Breega Capital Venture 3, this represents the firm’s third investment vehicle. Breega’s prior fund, established in 2015, totaled €45 million, equivalent to approximately $53 million based on current exchange rates.

Broad Investment Scope

Unlike some VC firms, Breega maintains a sector-agnostic investment strategy. The firm is equipped to provide capital to a diverse range of businesses, including those operating in marketplaces, SaaS, agtech, HR tech, robotics, and other innovative areas.

Portfolio Companies and Funding Stages

The investment team has already begun deploying capital from the new fund. Current portfolio companies benefiting from Breega’s investment include Stations-e, Trustpair, IoTerop, BeOp, Otodo, Humanity, Alice&Bob, Neobrain, Didomi, Ubble, Ponicode, and reciTAL.

These startups have each received funding during either the seed or Series A stages of their development.

Operational Support for Portfolio Growth

Breega distinguishes itself by offering more than just financial backing. The firm provides operational assistance to its portfolio companies.

A dedicated team of in-house specialists offers expertise in key areas such as HR, business development, communications, legal matters, and finance.

Notable Limited Partners

The fund’s limited partners include a number of successful entrepreneurs who now act as business angels. Patrick Asdaghi, co-founder of FoodChéri, is among those who have invested in Breega Capital Venture 3.

Notably, FoodChéri previously received funding from Breega prior to its acquisition by Sodexo.

Additional Investors

Other significant limited partners contributing to the fund include Bpifrance, the European Investment Fund, Isomer Capital, as well as various banks and insurance companies.
