Fortnite Superstar Music Tour: Dates, Details & What We Know

Epic Games Prepares for Major In-Game Event
Epic Games is generating anticipation for its largest in-game spectacle since Travis Scott’s memorable performance within Fortnite’s digital environment.
Introducing the Rift Tour
The upcoming event, officially named the “Rift Tour” by Fortnite’s creator, Epic, is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 6th and conclude on Sunday, August 8th. Epic has extended an invitation to players to embark on a “musical journey into magical new realities” featuring a collaboration between Fortnite and a globally recognized musical artist.
Pre-Event Activities and Rewards
Preparatory in-game activities leading up to the concert series will be available from July 29th through August 8th. Players can access Fortnite now to participate in new Rift Tour-themed quests and earn exclusive rewards.
These rewards include a uniquely designed loading screen and a charming cloud kitty emoticon, alongside other digital collectibles.
Multiple Showtimes for Global Access
The Rift Tour will not be a single occurrence. Mirroring the format of the Travis Scott event, Fortnite will host five separate showtimes over the three-day period to accommodate players across different time zones.
Epic has indicated that further details will be revealed on Monday, August 2nd, prompting Fortnite enthusiasts to await additional clues or an official announcement regarding the performing artist.
Speculation Surrounds the Performing Artist
Current speculation strongly suggests that Ariana Grande will be the featured performer. Information leaks have circulated for over a week supporting this claim.
Documents disclosed during Epic’s legal dispute with Apple also outlined plans for in-game events involving both Grande and Lady Gaga.
Supporting Evidence and Potential Collaborations
Paul Tassi of Forbes has also highlighted connections within recent leaks that point towards Grande’s involvement, referencing visual elements from her music videos and a nod to her pet pig, Piggy Smalls.
Given that Epic is promoting the event as a “tour,” it’s plausible that Grande may not be the sole performer.
A potential appearance by Lady Gaga remains a possibility, as Epic previously considered a December 2020 concert featuring her that ultimately did not take place.
Other Potential Performers
Although Kanye West’s new album is also slated for release on August 6th, a partnership with him appears less likely due to his recent public controversies.
Furthermore, the release date of West’s album, “Donda,” was initially set for a different date before being postponed.
Anticipation for Monday’s Announcement
The identity of the performer is expected to be confirmed on Monday. Regardless of personal musical preferences or gaming habits, Fortnite’s in-game concerts represent some of the most innovative and visually captivating virtual experiences available.
Experiencing a virtual concert with friends, featuring a colossal virtual artist performing spectacular effects, is a unique opportunity everyone should consider.
