env0 Raises $17M Series A to Advance Infrastructure as Code Control

Env0 Secures $17 Million Series A Funding
With the increasing speed of code delivery, organizations require tools to maintain control and governance over their cloud resources. Env0, a startup focused on providing this functionality, has announced a $17 million Series A funding round.
Investment Details
M12, Microsoft’s Venture Fund, spearheaded the investment. Participation also came from existing investors, including Boldstart Ventures, Grove Ventures, and Crescendo Ventures.
Prior to this, Env0 secured a $3.3 million seed round last April, which was previously reported. An additional, unannounced $3.5 million was raised last summer. This latest round brings the total funding to $23.8 million.
Core Functionality and Benefits
Env0’s platform enables companies to manage cloud expenditures effectively. Simultaneously, it empowers developers to deploy applications to the cloud within predefined cost constraints.
The service also establishes a governance framework for code throughout its lifecycle, from development to deployment.
Product Evolution
When initially covered during its seed round, Env0’s product was in its beta phase. It has since achieved general availability approximately four months ago, with significant feature enhancements implemented since then, according to co-founder and CEO Ohad Maislish.
“Initially, our focus was on manual self-service and empowering developers in non-production environments,” Maislish stated. “Now, with infrastructure as code automation, team management, and governance features, we oversee all cloud deployments for our clients.”
Customer Traction and Revenue
Since the product’s general release earlier this year, Env0 has acquired numerous paying customers and is currently generating revenue.
Notable customers include JFrog, Varonis, and BigID.
Growth and Expansion Plans
The company has expanded its team from seven employees in April 2020 to 17 currently. Plans are in place to reach 50 employees within the next 18 months as the new capital is deployed.
Maislish believes that a diverse workforce is crucial for innovation and problem-solving. “Bringing in individuals with varied cultures and backgrounds is key, as they will contribute different perspectives.”
Geographic Presence
Env0 is currently headquartered in Israel, with plans to establish offices in the United States.
Maislish had initially planned to relocate to California, but those plans were delayed due to the pandemic. He anticipates opening an office in Sunnyvale this fall.
The Israeli office operates on a hybrid model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office and three days of remote work, offering flexibility to employees.
The company intends to hire personnel for the U.S. office and will consider remote work arrangements where appropriate for specific roles.
