Getting Started with LockNote
Initiate the process by double-clicking the LockNote executable file. Upon first launch, you’ll encounter an introductory screen offering helpful guidance to facilitate your initial experience.

Please note that LockNote does not permit modifications to font type or size.

A variety of Unicode control characters are available for insertion into your encrypted documents.
Saving Your Encrypted Document
It’s time to save and encrypt your document. Observe the default file name displayed at the top of the window: “lock-note-(1.0.4)”.
When saving your document – for this example, we’ll use “angelic-secrets” – you will be prompted to create a password. The original file name will persist until the window is closed.
The original and newly encrypted files are shown here. Double-clicking the original file will initiate the encryption process anew, unless you saved under the original name.
Double-clicking the saved, encrypted document will immediately request the password you previously selected.
The example document opens rapidly and is ready for editing or use. The new file name is now visible at the top of the window.
Modifying Your Password
Should you need to alter your password, navigate to the “File Menu” and choose “Change Password…”. You will be asked to provide your current password to proceed.
You can now enter and confirm your new password.
Upon confirming your new password, a confirmation message will appear.
The process is now complete!
