Re-enabling the Classic Windows Login Screen

Historically, earlier iterations of the Windows operating system required the Ctrl+Alt+Delete key combination to initiate the login process. This was intended as a security measure, though its effectiveness is debatable.

Many users are accustomed to this method, and it's possible to reinstate it. Access the Advanced User Accounts control panel by entering 'netplwiz' into the Start menu search field and pressing Enter.

Subsequently, select the 'Advanced' tab. A checkbox will be visible, allowing you to re-enable the traditional login prompt.

Alternative Method for Consistent Application

For a more persistent solution, utilize the Local Security Policy editor. Type 'secpol.msc' into the Start menu search box and execute the command.

Navigate through the following path: Local Policies \ Security Options.

Locate the setting labeled "Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name". Change its status to 'Enabled'.

This configuration ensures that the Ctrl+Alt+Delete prompt is consistently displayed upon login, regardless of previous user selections.

Important Note: This setting prevents the last used username from being automatically populated, enhancing privacy during the login sequence.
