Elon Musk Announces Ads in Grok Responses on X

X to Integrate Advertisements into Grok AI Responses
Elon Musk, owner of X, revealed during a live discussion with advertisers on Wednesday that the platform intends to incorporate advertisements within the responses generated by its AI chatbot, Grok. This information was initially reported by the Financial Times.
This strategic shift is anticipated to bolster X’s advertising revenue, which has faced challenges since the departure of former CEO Linda Yaccarino.
Focus on Grok's Development and Monetization
“Currently, our primary objective has been to develop Grok into the most intelligent and precise AI available, and we believe we have largely achieved this goal,” Musk stated during the broadcast.
He further explained that the next phase will concentrate on addressing the financial demands of the powerful GPUs required to operate the AI.
How Advertisements Will Function in Grok
Musk detailed to advertisers that X will enable marketers to pay for their products or services to be featured as suggestions within Grok’s responses.
“When a user is actively seeking a solution to a problem through Grok, presenting a relevant advertisement for that solution would be particularly effective,” he elaborated.
Leveraging xAI for Enhanced Ad Targeting
The billionaire entrepreneur also outlined plans to utilize technology developed by xAI, his artificial intelligence startup, to refine the precision of ad targeting on the social media network.
It is worth noting that xAI acquired X earlier this year in a transaction valued at $45 billion.
This integration of advertising into Grok represents a new avenue for monetization for X, as it seeks to strengthen its financial position and continue investing in AI development.
