Enhance Text Input with the It’s All Text! Firefox Extension

Do you find yourself inconvenienced by the restricted size and small font within webpage text boxes? The It’s All Text! extension for Firefox offers a solution, making text entry a more comfortable and streamlined experience.

Before Installation

Consider the comment section of a How-To Geek article as an example. Currently, text input is confined by the dimensions and limitations of the text area itself.

After Installation and Configuration

Following installation, accessing the extension’s options is the first step. Here, you can specify your preferred text editor for use with webpages.

Further customization is possible, allowing you to adjust settings like the desired “Character Set”, the placement of the “Edit Button”, or even define a “Hotkey Combination” for quick access.

For our demonstration, we selected Editra as the text editor. We then modified the “Edit Button” location and adjusted the “Duration of button fade” to suit our preferences.

Returning to the original comment text area, a new “Edit Button” is now visible, featuring a drop-down menu accessible via a right-click. Selecting this button launches the text editor you configured in the options.

The “Right-Click Menu” within the text area also provides access to the editor. The “Edit Button” remains visible even while the “Right-Click Menu” is displayed.

During testing, we found the “Edit Button” to be the more convenient access method.

After composing your text within your chosen editor, transferring it to the comment area is straightforward. Simply click the appropriate “Save Button” within the text editor.
