DroppedBoxx - Windows Mobile Dropbox Client

Leveraging DropBox on Windows Mobile Devices
Are you a user of DropBox? If not, consider the benefits. It’s a complimentary service offering valuable features. For those unfamiliar, DropBox provides a web-based storage solution for your files and folders, accessible from numerous locations.
The primary advantage of DropBox lies in its ability to synchronize files seamlessly across various computers and operating systems. This synchronization occurs automatically, enhancing convenience and data accessibility.
Introducing an Unofficial Client
Thanks to the contributions of the Xda-Developers community, DropBox functionality can now be extended to Windows Mobile devices. A beta application has been developed to facilitate this integration.
This application is currently under development, so anticipate ongoing updates and feature enhancements. It represents a user-driven effort to bridge a gap in official DropBox support.
I’ve personally found this application to streamline my workflow, granting me complete access to my files while mobile. This includes readily accessing MP3s, video files, or uploading attachments directly from email to my DropBox account.

Installation Process
To download the application, forum registration is required. You can register here.
Following registration and download, transfer the application file to your Windows Mobile device. I utilize ActiveSync and its explore function for this purpose. The .cab file is then copied to the storage card as follows:
Once the file transfer is complete, execute the installer (CAB) file on your device. Use File Explorer to locate the .cab file and initiate the installation process. The file is named droppedboxx.cab.
Upon selecting installation, you’ll be prompted to choose an installation location. While using your storage card is recommended, device memory can be utilized if sufficient space is available.
The application will then proceed with the installation on your device:
Installation completion is indicated by the following screen:
Using the Application
The application can now be launched, appearing within the start menu.
Clicking the icon will open the application to the login screen. Enter your existing DropBox email address and password. These are the same credentials used for web or desktop access. Click the login button to proceed.
Successful login will display the following screen:
This interface displays your DropBox files and folders. Navigate through the directory structure to upload or download files.
To download files from your DropBox account, click the Lego piece icon with the green arrow on the main screen. This button initiates the download process.
You’ll recognize your familiar file and folder structure. New folders can be created using the folder icon with a green plus sign. Folders can be deleted using the icon with a red minus sign. The camera button allows for immediate image capture and automatic upload to your DropBox account.
Selecting the camera button instantly activates the device’s camera within the application:
Upon returning to the application, the captured image is automatically uploaded to your DropBox account. This feature is remarkably efficient. While an official DropBox Windows Mobile application is yet to be released, this solution provides a valuable interim option.
