Disney+ and Hulu Price Increase: What You Need to Know

Disney+ and Hulu Subscription Costs are Increasing
Price adjustments are being implemented by Disney for its Disney+ and Hulu streaming services. A range of standalone plans and bundled subscriptions will be subject to these changes, effective October 21st.
Disney+ Price Updates
The Disney+ plan that includes advertisements will see a $2 increase, bringing the monthly cost to $11.99. Subscribers opting for the ad-free Disney+ Premium experience will encounter a $3 rise, resulting in a monthly fee of $18.99.
An annual increase of $30 is also being applied to the Disney+ Premium annual subscription, setting its new price at $189.99 per year.
Hulu and ESPN+ Price Adjustments
Hulu’s ad-supported standalone plan will increase from $9.99 to $11.99 per month. However, the ad-free tier of Hulu will maintain its current price point of $18.99 monthly.
Furthermore, the cost of ESPN Select is being adjusted upwards by $1, now costing $12.99 each month.
Bundle Price Changes
The bundled subscription offering Disney+ and Hulu with advertisements will increase by $2, reaching $12.99 per month.
A $3 increase will be applied to the bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select with ads, bringing the total monthly cost to $19.99.
A comprehensive listing detailing all price modifications for Disney+ and Hulu bundle options is available on the company’s official support website.
Timing of the Increases
These price increases occur at a sensitive time, following substantial subscription cancellations from Disney+ last week. This was a direct response to Disney’s temporary removal of Jimmy Kimmel from its programming schedule.
Historical Pricing
Disney+ initially launched in 2019 with a monthly subscription price of $6.99. Since then, the service has mirrored the trend of other streaming platforms by incrementally raising its prices.
The previous price adjustment was announced in October 2024, which saw the ad-free plan increase from $13.99 to $15.99 monthly, and the ad-supported plan rise from $7.99 to $9.99 per month.
