Disable CD/DVD Autoplay - Prevent Automatic Playback

Preventing Automatic Disc Burning Tool Launch in Ubuntu

Upon inserting a blank data CD or DVD, Ubuntu is configured to automatically initiate a CD burning application. This automated action can occasionally disrupt ongoing tasks.

If you wish to deactivate this behavior, access the system settings through the following path: System > Preferences > Removable Drives and Media.

Disabling Autoplay for Blank Discs

Within the Removable Drives and Media settings, locate the option controlling autoplay functionality. Simply uncheck the corresponding box to prevent blank discs from automatically triggering the burning tool.

By disabling this feature, the system will no longer automatically launch the disc burning application when a blank disc is inserted, allowing for uninterrupted workflow.

This adjustment ensures that disc burning is initiated only when explicitly requested, providing greater control over system behavior.
