Diamond Age Secures $8 Million in Seed Funding

Diamond Age, a company located in the Bay Area, has recently announced the completion of an $8 million seed funding round.

Prime Movers Lab and Alpaca VC spearheaded the investment, with participation from several other firms.

Revolutionizing Home Construction Through Automation

The startup is focused on integrating a range of advanced technologies to streamline the home building process, reducing reliance on manual labor and accelerating project timelines.

Diamond Age projects that its fully developed technology will decrease manual labor requirements by 55% and shorten the construction period for a typical single-family home from nine months to just 30 days.

A portion of the newly acquired funds will be allocated to establishing the infrastructure needed to build a 1,100-square-foot “demonstration house,” serving as a practical validation of their approach.

Addressing the Housing Affordability Challenge

“Our mission is to deliver high-quality, affordable single-family homes to the next generation pursuing the American dream,” stated co-founder and CEO Jack Oslan.

“Automation is the only viable path to effectively address this critical challenge.”

Core Technologies Employed

The company’s strategy centers around the implementation of both robotic and 3D printing technologies.

Their robotic system comprises 26 interchangeable arm attachments designed to aid various construction tasks.

This is complemented by a gantry-based 3D printing system engineered to create both interior and exterior walls for residential structures.

Focus on the Bay Area Housing Market

Diamond Age is initially targeting the housing shortage prevalent in the Bay Area region.

The company intends to offer its systems to construction firms through a RaaS (Robotics as a Service) rental model.
