Initial Configuration
Upon installation and browser restart, a configuration window will appear before Firefox fully loads. You'll be prompted to select the Tab Bar layout that best aligns with your workflow. The option to retain Firefox’s standard Tab Bar layout is also available.
Exploring Tab Kit Options
Once Firefox has completed loading, a thorough examination of the available options within Tab Kit is recommended. The Tab Bar Window allows selection of browser window positioning for both the Tab Bar and the Sidebar – choices include Left, Right, Top, and Bottom.
If the “Multi-row Tabs” layout is chosen, the maximum number of visible rows can be specified. This is a particularly useful feature! For users opting for the “Tree Tabs” layout, options exist to control child tab indentation, the maximum tree level depth, and the indentation amount for each level. Having choices is beneficial.
Tab Appearance and Behavior
Within the Tabs Window, you can define the minimum tab width, enable or disable close buttons on tabs, adjust tab appearance through highlighting or emphasis, and customize tab coloration with grouping and saturation options. It’s worth noting that, in our testing, the Close Button was not displayed on the final open tab.
Controls and Gestures
The Controls Window provides settings for mouse gestures, tab dragging functionality, scrolling behavior, and how selected links are opened.

The Grouping Window allows you to configure tab grouping behavior, the positioning of ungrouped tabs – a truly excellent option – and the actions triggered when closing tabs.

In the Advanced Window, you can specify the source from which tabs are opened (e.g., the Address or Search Bars), define tab closing options, control tab order, and implement more specialized tab behavior based on the originating source. A convenient feature allows resetting all options to their original defaults, or complete deactivation of all features.
Right-Click Menu Enhancements
The Right Click Menu is expanded when right-clicking on a tab, offering additional functionality.
