Create Website Tours Easily | Amberjack

Enhance User Experience with Interactive Website Tours
Imagine a scenario where new visitors to your website could instantly access a guided tour, showcasing its key features and benefits. This would allow them to quickly determine the site's value, saving them time and enhancing their initial impression.
Now, you can provide this experience to your own audience. Amberjack, a complimentary service, empowers you to construct interactive website tours that spotlight the most important sections and functionalities of your online platform.
A Simple Solution for Website Onboarding
With minimal effort, you can effectively demonstrate the worth of your website to first-time visitors, encouraging them to return and become loyal users.
While similar tools like Touration and Demofuse have been previously noted, Amberjack distinguishes itself through its exceptional ease of use and extensive customization options.
How Amberjack Works
The process employed by Amberjack is remarkably efficient. It generates JavaScript code in just a few steps.
This code then activates the Amberscript tour application, transforming the user's browser window into a dynamic, customized tour of your website, precisely as you've designed it.
This functionality makes it a standout tool for web designers seeking innovative ways to engage their audience.
- Key Benefit: Rapidly onboard new visitors.
- Ease of Use: Simple setup and configuration.
- Customization: Tailor the tour to your specific needs.
Amberjack represents a significant advancement in website user experience, offering a compelling way to capture attention and foster engagement.
Initiating Your Amberjack Tour Setup
If concerns about server-side installations are present, rest assured. The entire process is managed on Amberjack’s servers. Simply incorporate the provided code snippet into your website’s primary page – for example, your header.php file – and integrate the button graphic into your existing page layout. A single click from any visitor will then initiate the guided tour.
To begin designing your tour experience, navigate to Amberjack and select "Create Your Own Tour."

Within the Basic tab, input the URLs of the webpages you wish to showcase during the tour. Avoid excessive length; a tour encompassing twenty pages would likely be overwhelming. Instead, select five or six key areas and features of your site and enter their corresponding URLs.
The Skin tab allows you to choose the visual theme for the tour. Most settings on the remaining tabs can be left at their defaults. However, Amberjack provides customization options if you desire a unique look and feel.

On the Behavior tab, you can define the Tour’s name – the default is "MyTour" – and this identifier will be used in the link that activates “tour mode” for your website. It is also recommended to modify the "Close Button" and "Exit Page" URLs to redirect visitors back to your homepage. This creates a seamless transition, making it appear as though the browser view simply switches between the tour and regular site views.

The Captions tab offers further customization of the tour’s appearance. You can adjust the text displayed on the previous and next buttons, the close button, and the webpage number description. The functionality will become clearer once you preview the tour itself.

Advanced options are also available, allowing the tour to load a CSS or JavaScript file upon completion. This enables further behavioral customization as visitors return to your site. If these options are unfamiliar, simply leave the fields blank.

To finalize the setup, click the "Create Your Code" button located at the bottom of any configuration window. The Amberjack system will then generate your tour and provide the necessary code snippets for integration. The primary code block, intended for your website header, can be found under "Tour HTML code".

The "tour entry link" provides a direct URL to your website tour – a button is not strictly required. However, the button code is also provided on this page, and placing it prominently on your homepage is recommended as the first element new visitors encounter.
When embedding the code into your header’s script area, remember to replace the "Placeholder" text with the desired content for each corresponding page within the tour.

You can either embed the button directly on your site or add a link – such as "take a tour of this site" – to your homepage. Alternatively, you can share the tour link via email, allowing users to access the tour directly. The link appears to lead directly to your site but instead invokes the Amberjack tour script.

The tour interface presents an explanatory box over the webpage, dimming the underlying page to create a background viewing experience while visitors read the page’s description.

This feature, which could require significant coding effort for manual implementation, can be readily deployed on your website in a matter of minutes thanks to Amberjack.
We encourage you to experiment with Amberjack on your own site and effectively showcase your website to new visitors, using your own personalized messaging.
