Preventing Accidental Tab Closures with PermaTabs Mod
Have you ever been inconvenienced by unintentionally closing a browser tab containing crucial, ongoing work like composing an email or completing a form? The PermaTabs Mod offers a solution, allowing you to maintain essential tabs open indefinitely.
PermaTabs Mod – Initial Startup
Upon installation and subsequent restart of Firefox, several temporary, pre-designated permanent tabs will be visible. These tabs are visually distinguished by an orange-tan hue, signifying their permanent status.
We conducted a test to determine if these tabs could be closed using conventional methods. Attempts to close them via the standard close buttons, as well as through the context menu, proved unsuccessful.
A new “PermaTabs” entry is now present within the context menu. If you wish to remove these demonstration permanent tabs, simply deselect “Permanent Tab” from the menu, after which they can be closed normally.
It’s important to note that once a tab is no longer designated as a PermaTab, it will revert to the default color scheme used by your other tabs.
Configuration Options
The PermaTabs Mod provides a range of customizable options. These allow you to define how links within permanent tabs are opened, manage the context menu entries, adjust the visual appearance of PermaTabs, and incorporate various miscellaneous settings.
Putting PermaTabs Mod to Work
To illustrate functionality, we designated the How-To Geek homepage as our initial permanent tab. This was achieved by accessing the context menu, selecting the “PermaTabs” option, and then clicking “Permanent Tab”.
Upon activation of “Permanent Tab”, the tab’s color automatically transitioned to the green color we had previously selected within the options – a visually pleasing confirmation!
In Conclusion
The PermaTabs Mod effectively eliminates the frustration of accidentally closing important tabs containing ongoing work, such as emails or web forms.
