Creating Custom Icons with SimplyIcon

Are you a user who appreciates personalized icons for their computer system? Do you desire a straightforward and efficient method for creating them independently? SimplyIcon provides a solution!

Please be aware that SimplyIcon necessitates the presence of the .NET Framework (version 2.0 or a later version) on your system.

Installation Process

A traditional installation procedure is not required for SimplyIcon. The process involves extracting the two included files – SimplyIcon.exe and FreeImage.dll – and placing them within a directory of your choosing.

Subsequently, create a shortcut to the program for convenient access. This is the interface you will encounter upon launching SimplyIcon.

Icon creation is remarkably simple: just drag and drop the desired image into the designated window area within SimplyIcon.

Supported Icon Sizes

The application’s website indicates support for creating icons in the following sizes: 128 x 128, 32 x 32, 24 x 24, and 16 x 16 pixels.

However, during our testing, SimplyIcon successfully generated a 48 x 48 pixel icon as well.

The program generates a single icon, utilizing the largest possible size based on the dimensions of the original file, and assigns it the same name as the source image.

The newly created icon is then saved to the same folder as the original image.

Important Note: To achieve optimal results for “128 x 128” icons, source images should be at least 128 x 128 pixels in resolution or larger.
