Automatically Clear Firefox History on Exit

Maintaining Your Privacy in Firefox: Automatic History Clearing
Do you utilize a computer that is also used by family, friends, or colleagues? Protecting your browsing activity from others can be a concern when using Firefox. You may prefer that your visited websites remain private.
Firefox provides a convenient feature to automatically erase various history elements each time the browser is closed. Adjusting these settings is a straightforward process. Begin by accessing the Options menu within Firefox.
Accessing Firefox Options
The Options menu can be found either directly on the main Firefox menu or through its dedicated submenu.
Configuring History Settings
Within the Options dialog, navigate to the Privacy section located on the toolbar at the top. From the "Firefox will" drop-down menu, select "Use custom settings for history."
Expanded options will appear below the drop-down selection. Here, you can define which types of browsing history Firefox retains and manage its handling of cookies from websites. Cookie management is also accessible from this dialog.
To enable automatic history clearing upon browser closure, check the box labeled "Clear history when Firefox closes." A "Settings" button will then become available; click it.
Selecting History Items to Clear
The "Settings for Clearing History" dialog box will open. Within the "History" section, specify the types of history you wish to be cleared each time Firefox is closed.
Furthermore, you can configure Firefox to automatically clear other data types, such as Saved Passwords and Site Preferences.
Once you have made your selections, click "OK."
Saving Your Changes
Finally, click "OK" on the main Options dialog box to save your changes and close the window.
Enjoying Automatic Privacy
With these settings in place, you no longer need to manually clear your browsing history, including downloads and cookies. Upon closing Firefox, the selected history types will be automatically erased.
