Discovering CDBurnerXP: A Lightweight Disc Burning Solution
As frequent visitors to this blog are aware, I possess a strong passion for music. Following a previous discussion regarding iTunes, I evaluated numerous music players before settling on Spider Player as my preferred application for listening. However, Spider Player lacks an integrated disc burning capability.
I’ve submitted a feature request to the Spider Player developers, hoping they will incorporate burning functionality in a future release. Until then, I’ve been utilizing a program recommended by a friend: CDBurnerXP.
A Concise and Efficient Burning Program
CDBurnerXP is a remarkably lightweight burner, weighing in at just 2.24MB, and delivers excellent results. Its interface is intuitive, resembling a familiar Explorer-style file manager.
Beyond standard disc burning, CDBurnerXP supports burning ISO files, converting bin files to ISO format, and even includes a feature for printing disc covers.
A basic audio player is also integrated within the application.

Burning a Disc with Ease
The process of burning a disc is straightforward. Simply select the desired tracks or entire albums from your music collection and add them to the program’s table.
From there, you can rearrange the track order, remove unwanted songs, or incorporate additional selections. Once the playlist is finalized, initiate the burning process by clicking the "Burn" button.

A configuration window will appear, allowing you to customize the disc settings.
Monitoring and Completion
During the burning process, you can monitor the progress in real-time.

Upon completion, a concise report detailing the burn’s outcome is displayed.

Free and Compatible
CDBurnerXP is available completely free of charge and maintains compatibility with the Vista operating system.
You can download CDBurnerXP from Ninite.
