Calm iOS App: Sleep Support & Relaxation

Calm Introduces Dedicated Sleep Support Application
Calm has announced the release of a new, independent application focused on enhancing personalized sleep support. This new offering, named Calm Sleep, is currently available for iOS devices.
The application is engineered to assist individuals in relaxing, achieving more restful sleep, and waking feeling revitalized, according to Calm.
Key Features and Functionality
Calm Sleep incorporates existing Calm content alongside newly developed features specifically designed to facilitate users in attaining their sleep objectives.
Upon initial use, the app guides users through a brief onboarding questionnaire. This information is then utilized to generate a customized sleep plan.
The personalized plan includes recommended content and daily activities aimed at improving sleep quality. These areas of focus encompass digital wellness, physical activity, stress management, and optimizing the sleep environment.
Promoting Better Sleep Habits
A “sleep readiness” indicator is integrated into Calm Sleep. This visual element increases as users complete assigned tasks throughout the day.
The company explains that this feature serves as a motivational cue, encouraging the development of healthier habits.
Furthermore, the application offers synchronization with wearable devices via Apple HealthKit, enabling users to leverage their sleep data for proactive adjustments.
Content and Availability
The initial launch of Calm Sleep includes new Sleep Stories narrated by radio personality Delilah and actor Andrew Scott.
These additions complement an extensive existing library of over 300 hours of sleep-focused content, featuring 500 unique Sleep Stories.
Calm has stated that all newly created sleep content will be exclusively available on Calm Sleep for a period of four weeks before becoming accessible on the main Calm platform.
A Decade of Sleep Content
Calm initially entered the sleep content market a decade ago with the introduction of Sleep Stories – audio bedtime narratives for both adults and children.
Since their debut, Sleep Stories have been streamed over 1 billion times, as reported by Calm.
Company Statement
Jon Tien, Calm’s chief product officer, stated in a press release: “Calm is a recognized leader in the sleep space, with over half of our user base already utilizing our resources for rest and benefiting from some of the most popular content and tools available.”
He continued, “With Calm Sleep, we are introducing a product entirely dedicated to the sleep experience, from daily routines to nighttime preparation. We aim to empower individuals in their sleep journey, providing not just information, but also a renewed sense of comfort and enjoyment at bedtime.”
Subscription Details
The free version of Calm Sleep allows access to the personalized plan, daily tasks, and wearable device integration.
A Calm Sleep Premium subscription, priced at $69.99 annually, unlocks the app’s complete content library and full functionality.
Plans are in place to extend the availability of Calm Sleep to Android users in the future.
