Ubuntu 14.04: Add Bookmark in Nautilus (Files)

Adding Bookmarks in Nautilus Files
Nautilus provides several pre-configured bookmarks for swift access to frequently used folders. These include common directories like Music and Pictures, alongside connected devices such as USB flash drives and network shares.
Users also have the capability to create personalized bookmarks, enabling quick navigation to folders they utilize regularly.
Default and Custom Bookmarks
By default, Nautilus organizes bookmarks in the left pane under headings like Places, Devices, and Network. These represent locations on your system and connected storage.
Any bookmarks you create personally are conveniently added to a dedicated Bookmarks section within the same left pane.
To start, launch Nautilus by clicking the Files icon located on the Unity bar.
Navigate through the file system to the specific folder you wish to bookmark.
From the Bookmarks menu, select the "Bookmark this Location" option.
Note: An alternative method for specifying the folder path involves enabling a setting within Nautilus that allows direct entry into the location bar.
Once bookmarked, the folder’s name will appear in the Bookmarks section of the left pane.
Hovering your mouse cursor over the bookmark’s name will reveal the complete file path in a pop-up window.
The Bookmarks section itself is only visible when at least one custom bookmark has been created.
Bookmark Visibility
It’s important to remember that the Bookmarks section in Nautilus’s left pane will only be displayed if you have added at least one custom bookmark.
This ensures a clean interface and prevents unnecessary clutter when no personalized bookmarks are present.
