Backgrounds of the Speakers
Matt Harris began his investment career at Bain Capital private equity in 1995. He later established Village Ventures in 2000, focusing on fintech investments for 12 years. Returning to Bain Capital Ventures in 2012, his portfolio now includes Acorns, Finix, Ribbon, and Justworks.
Prior to founding Justworks, Oates dedicated 12 years to service in the National Guard and Army Reserve as an intelligence officer. He also gained experience as a software engineer at Amazon and founded Adtuitive, which was subsequently acquired by Etsy. His experiences leading HR and payments teams at Adtuitive and Etsy highlighted the inefficiencies within existing systems, ultimately inspiring the creation of Justworks in 2012.
