FavBackup - Easy Browser Backup

Simplify Browser Backups with FavBackup
Do you find yourself managing numerous programs to back up settings and profiles for different web browsers? Now, a streamlined solution is available. FavBackup simplifies the backup and restoration process for multiple browsers with a single application.
Supported Browsers
FavBackup offers compatibility with a range of browsers, including: Internet Explorer (versions 6-8), Mozilla Firefox (versions 2-3.5), Opera (version 9), Safari (versions 3-4), and Google Chrome (versions 1-3).
Installation & Setup
A key benefit of FavBackup is its portability; no installation is necessary. Simply place the executable file in your desired location and create a shortcut for easy access.
For instance, the executable can be placed within a folder named “FavBackup” inside Program Files. Remember to create a dedicated folder to store the backup files, as they are saved as individual files.
Backing Up a Browser Profile
Initiating a browser backup involves a three-step process. First, select the appropriate “Backup” option and choose the browser you wish to back up. A “Convert” option is also available.
Click “Next” to proceed. As an example, a Google Chrome backup was performed on Vista SP2, with backup files saved to a “Chrome” folder on the Desktop.
In the subsequent window, you can selectively choose which items to include in the backup. Browse to the Backup Folder you previously created and click "Next". By default, all items are pre-selected.
The final window displays green checkmarks next to items that were successfully backed up. Click "Finish" to complete the process.
A review of the Chrome Folder confirms the successful backup of all selected items.
Backup Options for Other Browsers
The backup windows for other supported browsers offer similar options.
Here's a look at the options available for Mozilla Firefox…
…and for Opera Browser.
Apple Safari is also supported…
…as is Internet Explorer.
Restoring a Browser Profile
The restoration process mirrors the backup procedure, utilizing a three-window sequence. Select the “Restore” option, choose the browser, and click “Next”.
To demonstrate, a Google Chrome profile backed up on Vista SP2 was restored to a clean installation of Google Chrome on Windows 7.
In the second window, select the items to restore and locate your backup files. Click "Next". All items are selected by default, as in the backup process.
The final window indicates successful restoration with green checkmarks. Click "Finish".
The Windows 7 installation of Google Chrome now reflects the restored profile, including all six extensions from the original Vista SP2 installation.
Note: The Restore Windows for the other browsers are functionally identical to their Backup Window counterparts.
Conclusion
FavBackup provides a remarkably user-friendly solution for backing up browser profiles. Its simplicity and efficiency make it a highly recommended tool.
