Axiom’s long-term vision involves transitioning from adding privately developed modules to the ISS to establishing entirely independent, commercial on-orbital platforms.
First Private Astronaut Mission
Axiom Space is preparing for a landmark event: its inaugural private astronaut launch to the ISS. Scheduled for next January, the mission will utilize a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft and a Falcon 9 rocket.
Axiom is serving as the mission provider, facilitating the arrangement for the private space travelers and overseeing their training and mission planning. This will mark the first instance of a crew composed solely of private citizens reaching the space station.
Beyond Research: Entertainment in Space
The company is also exploring opportunities in the entertainment sector. Discussions were held with Tom Cruise regarding filming portions of a future movie on the ISS.
