Trillian Installation: Skip Unnecessary Software

Beware of Bundled Software During Installation
A common practice among software installers is to include additional applications, often categorized as unwanted or "crapware." Vigilance during installation is crucial to prevent these additions.
Recently, while reinstalling Trillian on a Vista operating system, several instances of this practice were observed.
The Weather Channel Desktop
The Weather Channel Desktop application was presented as an optional install. For users who aren't dedicated weather followers, its installation is generally unnecessary.
Even those with a strong interest in meteorology can find superior weather applications available. Simply deselect the checkbox adjacent to the license agreement to avoid its installation.
The Ask Toolbar
Following the Weather Channel Desktop, the Ask Toolbar was offered during the installation process. Unless Ask is your preferred search engine, there's little benefit to installing this toolbar.
It’s important to uncheck both provided boxes on this screen before proceeding with the setup.

Trillian remains a highly regarded instant messaging client. Taking the time to carefully review each installation screen can prevent the accumulation of unwanted software.
Proactive attention during setup saves time and effort by avoiding the need for later software removal.
