Hide Status Bar in Firefox - Easy Guide

Enhance Firefox with Auto-Hide Status Bar
Are you seeking a method to only show the Status Bar in Firefox when it’s actually needed? The autoHideStatusbar extension now allows you to benefit from this auto-hide functionality.
Before Installation
The standard “Status Bar” often remains visible, occupying valuable screen space. Installing this extension will resolve this issue.
After Installation
Following the installation and a Firefox restart, the “Status Bar” will be completely hidden, providing a cleaner browsing experience.
Extension Options
The “Preferences Area” of the extension allows you to enable or disable autoHideStatusbar. You can also configure when and how the “Status Bar” appears.
Furthermore, you can customize direct settings related to the “Status Bar” itself.
For our testing, we selected “always” for “hovering a link?” and enabled the “Floating statusbar” option.
Website Filtering
If you require the “Status Bar” to always be visible on specific websites, you can add their URLs within the “AHS Filters Area”.
To remove a website address from the filter list, simply double-click it and confirm the action in the subsequent message window.
autoHideStatusbar in Use
The “Status Bar” is shown while the How-To Geek website is being loaded.
The “Status Bar” also displays the link address when the mouse cursor hovers over a hyperlink.
Positioning the mouse near the browser's edge activates the “Floating statusbar” option. This provides convenient access to the autoHideStatusbar Icon, and any other icons present.
While the “Status Bar” is visible, you can temporarily disable autoHideStatusbar by clicking its icon. The icon turns green when active and red when deactivated.
Concluding Thoughts
If you prefer the Status Bar to be available only when you explicitly need it, this extension is a valuable addition to your Firefox browser.
