Apple Updates iBook iOS App: Night Reading Mode & New Features

Recent iBooks Update Introduces Highly Requested Features
iBooks has been enhanced with a recent update, incorporating several new functionalities that users have actively requested. A primary improvement is the implementation of a dedicated night-time reading mode.
This mode inverts the color scheme, presenting a black background with white text. Consequently, reading becomes significantly less fatiguing in low-light environments.
Full Screen Mode for Enhanced Focus
Another notable addition is the introduction of a full screen mode. This feature eliminates distracting interface elements from the iOS device’s display.
By removing these elements, users can concentrate more effectively on the text itself. This is particularly beneficial given the increased on-screen activity with the iOS 5 notification center.
Expanded Font Selection
Apple has also broadened the range of available fonts within iBooks. Readers who prefer specific typefaces will likely find a suitable option among the new additions.
The update includes fonts like Athelas, Charter, Iowa, and Seravek. While a standard font remains a personal preference for some, these new choices offer greater customization.
Additional Refinements
Further enhancements include improvements to the annotation tools and the addition of new cover artwork for books in the public domain.
These changes, though less substantial, contribute to an overall improved reading experience. They add to the value of the application.
The update is available for download through the iTunes App Store. Users can access these new features immediately.
