Apple Smart Home Hub Delayed: Siri Challenges Blamed

Apple Delays Personalized Siri and Smart Home Hub Launch
This week, Apple communicated a postponement regarding the enhanced, more personalized version of Siri initially unveiled last year.
According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this delay also impacts the release of Apple’s anticipated smart home hub.
Siri Upgrade Postponed
In an official statement, Apple acknowledged that delivering the upgraded Siri features, integral to the Apple Intelligence suite, will require more time than initially projected.
The company now anticipates launching these features within the next year.
Impact on Smart Home Hub
Gurman explained that the development of Apple’s smart home hub is dependent on the functionality of the new Siri capabilities.
Consequently, the hub’s launch has also been deferred.
Previous reports indicated a potential release as early as March 2025.
Smart Home Hub Features
The planned device is expected to feature a six-inch touchscreen designed for wall mounting.
Its intended functionalities include facilitating video calls and managing connected smart home devices.
Voice control is envisioned as a primary method of interaction.
Internal Testing Underway
Despite the launch delay, Apple has initiated an internal testing phase.
Employees are currently being provided with the device for home use and feedback collection.
