On Tuesday, Apple unveiled Apple Music Replay, a feature designed to mirror the popularity of Spotify’s Wrapped. This offering allows Apple Music subscribers to review their annual listening activity.
Key Features of Apple Music Replay
Apple Music Replay presents users with a personalized overview of their year in music, showcasing their most-streamed songs, artists, and albums.
This year’s iteration expands on previous versions, incorporating new insights into user habits. These include:
- Discovery: Highlights artists newly explored by the user.
- Loyalty: Identifies artists consistently enjoyed throughout the year.
- Comebacks: Showcases artists who have re-entered the user’s listening patterns.
Furthermore, users can now view their total listening time, the number of unique artists listened to, their longest continuous engagement with a single artist, and their preferred genres.
Accessing Replay
The Apple Music Replay dashboard is readily accessible through the Home tab within the music streaming application.
Beyond the annual summary, users can also access monthly Replay highlights and review yearly summaries dating back to their initial subscription. A “Replay All Time” playlist is also available, compiling the user’s most frequently played tracks since joining the service.
Insights for Artists
Artists will benefit from new data metrics, including growth in listenership and year-over-year performance analysis. They will continue to have access to established metrics like total listeners, geographic distribution (countries and cities), and total minutes streamed.
Top Songs of 2025
Apple has announced that the most-streamed song on Apple Music for 2025 is “APT” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars. “luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA secured the second position.
The top three is completed by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with “Die With A Smile.” Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” claimed fourth place, while Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” rounded out the top five.
Timing and Competition
Apple Music’s Replay launch followed YouTube’s release of its 2025 Recaps and coincided with Amazon Music’s release of its own yearly summaries. This timing suggests a strategic effort to precede Spotify’s release and capitalize on music-related social media sharing.
