Apple Music Now for DJs: Mix with the Full Catalog

Apple Expands DJ Tools with Platform Integration
Apple has announced that it is broadening access to its music library, enabling users to create DJ mixes through integration with several prominent DJ tools.
This expansion incorporates software like Algoriddim’s djay Pro, alongside hardware from companies including AlphaTheta, Serato, inMusic’s Engine DJ, Denon DJ, Numark, and RANE DJ.
Attracting DJs and Aspiring Mixers
The move is anticipated to draw professional DJs to Apple Music’s extensive catalog, which boasts over 100 million songs.
It also presents a valuable opportunity for those new to DJing to experiment with industry-standard software and hardware.
New DJ Category on Apple Music
A dedicated DJ category is being launched within Apple Music.
This new section will feature curated editorial playlists designed for DJs, pages showcasing partner software and hardware, and a selection of mixes for both inspiration and practice.
Apple’s Commitment to the DJ Community
Stephen Campbell, Apple Music’s global head of Dance, Electronic & DJ Mixes, stated the company’s dedication to supporting DJs.
“We’re further connecting Apple Music with leading DJ software and hardware, bringing the full power of our service into the creative process,” Campbell explained. “This makes accessing, playing, and discovering music in real time easier than ever.”
Growth of DJ Mix Sets on Apple Music
Since introducing streaming support for DJ Mix sets in 2021, Apple has seen the addition of thousands of sets to its platform.
Industry Trend: Empowering Music Creation
Several music streaming services are actively exploring ways to provide enhanced tools for music creation and remixing.
In 2024, SoundCloud announced integrations with six tools focused on editing, remixing, and sample creation.
Reports from The Wall Street Journal last year indicated that Spotify is considering the introduction of remixing tools and subscription options.
Furthermore, startups like Hook, backed by Point72 Ventures, are working to establish a legal marketplace for remixes through their applications.
