Apple Intelligence Language Support Expansion - April Update

Apple Intelligence: Expanded Language Support on the Horizon

Apple Intelligence, the company’s innovative AI suite, is preparing for a significant expansion of its linguistic capabilities. Support for several new languages will be implemented shortly.

These additions include French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Furthermore, Asian languages such as Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese are also slated to be supported.

Rollout Timeline and Regional Variations

According to CEO Tim Cook, during the Q4 2024 earnings call held on Thursday, the rollout of these language options is scheduled for April.

Localized English versions tailored for India and Singapore will also be included in this update.

Current Language Availability

Initially, Apple Intelligence was exclusively available in U.S. English.

Subsequent updates broadened this reach. The iOS 18.2 release in December introduced English language support for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

Future Expansion and Key Features

Currently, Apple has not announced any definitive plans regarding the availability of its AI suite within the European Union or Mainland China.

The next-generation Siri, boasting enhanced on-screen context understanding, is also anticipated to launch “over the next several months,” as stated by Cook.

This improved Siri functionality represents a key component of the broader Apple Intelligence ecosystem.
