Apple Store App Launches in India - Apple

Apple Expands Retail Footprint in India with New App Launch
Apple initiated the rollout of its dedicated Apple Store app in India this Friday. This expansion signifies a strengthened retail commitment within the nation holding the largest population globally.
The application, accessible via India’s App Store, enables consumers to directly procure Apple products. It also provides tailored shopping suggestions, as detailed in a company announcement.
Enhanced Customization Options
The app facilitates the customization of Mac computers. Users can now specify upgrades such as more potent processors, increased memory capacity, and expanded storage options – features frequently requested by Indian consumers.
Arrangements for both delivery and in-store pickup of purchased items are also streamlined through the application.
Strategic Expansion in the Indian Market
This launch follows Apple’s efforts to solidify its position in India. The company debuted its inaugural physical retail locations in Mumbai and Delhi during 2023.
Plans are underway to open an additional four stores. These will be located in the technology center of Bengaluru, the city of Pune, and further areas within Delhi and Mumbai. (Apple initially launched its online store in India in 2020.)
Company Statement
“At Apple, the customer remains central to our operations,” stated Karen Rasmussen, Apple’s head of retail online. “We are pleased to introduce the Apple Store app to connect with a broader audience in India, thereby strengthening our relationships.”
App Features and Support
The app is structured with distinct sections for products, individualized recommendations, and post-sales assistance. This includes access to online setup guidance from Apple experts.
Customers can also register for complimentary training sessions at Apple retail stores. They can explore Apple’s trade-in programs, financing alternatives, and the option to add personalized engravings to devices like AirPods and iPads in eight different languages.
India as a Growing Market
India, currently the second-largest smartphone market worldwide, is increasingly becoming a crucial region for Apple. The company is actively diversifying its manufacturing operations beyond China.
iPhone assembly within India commenced in 2017. Production has since been scaled up through collaborations with partners, including Foxconn and the Tata conglomerate.
