Apple Intelligence Unveiled: iPhone Features at WWDC 2025

Apple Introduces Visual Intelligence on iPhone with iOS 26

During its WWDC 2025 presentation, Apple announced the arrival of Visual Intelligence, its advanced AI-driven image analysis technology, directly to the iPhone via iOS 26.

According to Apple, Visual Intelligence is designed to streamline and accelerate interactions with content on your iPhone. It functions seamlessly across all applications without requiring explicit activation.

Enhanced Image Search Capabilities

For instance, when browsing a social media platform and encountering an image of a gray jacket, users can leverage Visual Intelligence. Accessed through the same button used for screenshots, it enables image searches for the jacket using Google Search and other preferred applications.

Contextual Shortcuts and Calendar Integration

The on-screen Visual Intelligence provides additional shortcuts. It can intelligently identify dates, times, and locations within images to automatically populate calendar events.

Furthermore, users have the option to upload screenshots to ChatGPT for in-depth analysis and to obtain supplementary details.

Developer Integration

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, highlighted the ability for developers to incorporate Apple Intelligence into their applications.

“Developers can utilize App Intents to integrate search functionalities from their apps into this new experience,” Federighi explained during the WWDC keynote.

He further stated, “We are also enabling visual searches across frequently used apps, powered by Visual Intelligence and the iPhone camera.”

This integration allows for a more intuitive and efficient user experience across the Apple ecosystem.
